When You Miss Your Family

This past weekend I was lucky enough to get to spend it with my Family.  On Saturday we all got together and had a potato bar pot luck.  Usually when we all get together we like to play games.  It can get a little competitive, but we still always have a good time.  I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard.  It felt really good.
One of my favorite things about going to Salt Lake is seeing my niece.  She was born while I was away and she's growing up while I'm away too, so I try to spend as much time with the little monster as I can.  She is growing up way to dang fast...
'My favorite part of coming home.'

My reason for going to Salt Lake this weekend was for my monthly Drill stuff for the Army.  It's usually pretty fun for me to get to see my Army friends and remember how to be a Soldier for reals deals.  But the best part, by far, is getting to spend a little bit of time with my family.  Choosing to go to school out of state was really big decision and being away from them is probably the hardest part of college.
In the past few weeks I have called my mom nearly every day.  You may think that's a little excessive, but when you're entire support system is 400 miles away, sometimes you just need to talk to your mom...
How do you deal with being away from home?
Don't forget about What's Up Wednesday! Goes live at Midnight!

Family is so nice. I'm glad you got to see them.
How do I drop my link right at midnight before you load your post? I'm a little lost.

Being away from home is hard but over the years I have learned to deal with it. Yes, I still miss them but I enjoy my life and am grateful for the chance to get to see them on my terms as silly as that sounds lol.

My neice is going to be making her big debut in July and I am beyond excited. But I am sad as K and I will be moving in about a year and I know it will be hard to leave the little bugger and the relationship we form.

I went to school 800 miles away and every break was time spent at home. And then there were the goodbye's. So dang hard. I'd like to say living away from home gets easier but I'm 25 and I miss my mom just when she goes out of town. I think it is a good thing we miss our family. It shows that we have good relationships with them. As for how to cope, talking to them often but making your own life where you are helps a ton.

Well, you're on eastern time, so if you want to add your link at midnight your time, you'd have to put it on Ashley's blog (her blog is linked on the landing page) Because she's also eastern time. All my posts are scheduled for midnight pacific time, so I guess I should have been more specific! haha sorry about that.

It really is tough, but I do like being away from drama...

yay for nieces! They're the best because they are so fun and you get to play with them and spoil them and then give them back to their mom's. They are the best...Even though I'm far away she still remembers me and knows my name. I'm sure it'll be that way for you!

I really should call more often. I've called my mom a lot the past few days, but I should call them all...

It's so hard being away from home, but having a good support system where you live helps a lot.
